Thursday, September 12th, 2013: La
Jolla Tour, with Luncheon.
Departs at 0900 from the hotel,
Returns by 1430. The tour starts at Mount Soledad, at the
Veteran's Memorial, located 900 feet above sea level, on Mount
Soledad, with a sweeping 360 degree view over looking the blue
Pacific, and San Diego, all the way to Mexico. This veteran's
Memorial is the only one of a kind in the world. The group will have
30 minutes to see it up close, and many photo opportunities.
The coach will proceed through La Jolla, the Beverly Hills of San
Diego. Later we will stop at the Stephen Birch Aquarium, one
of the finest in the U.S. The group will have an hour to enjoy the
exhibits, including salt water fish displays as colorful as the
rainbow, and more views of the La Jolla riviera from the aquarium's
back observation patio. Lunch will be at noon, at the Bali Hai
restaurant, located on Shelter Island. The view overlooks the harbor
and the city skyline. With several entree choices, dessert and
coffee or iced tea. This is a first class tour, and will be enjoyed
by all who attend. The all inclusive price per person is
$64.00 includes lunch.
Friday,
September 13th, 2013: Coronado, Old Town, Luncheon, Cabrillo
Monument.
Departs at 0900 from the hotel,
Returns by 1430. Coronado is one of California's jewels, and
the Del Coronado Hotel is the jewel of Coronado. With special
permission, the group will enjoy an hour inside this unique hotel
est. in 1888, and is in pristine condition. It is full of history
and charm. The tour will proceed to Old Town, the site of the
first Catholic Mission, est. 1769. This is where San Diego
became a town on the map, back in the 1860's, and grew from there.
More time to explore on foot. At noon the group will sit down to a
delicious Mexican dinner of either steak or chicken served at your
table, including rice, beans, guacamole, chips, salsa, tortillas,
and a welcoming margarita, dessert and coffee. The restaurant, Casa
de Guadalajara, is as close to authentic Mexican cantina, as you can
get, direct, all the way from Mexico. Before returning to the
hotel, one more fabulous view of San Diego from Cabrillo Monument.
This point is 600 feet above sea level, and was where San Diego was
discovered by explorer Juan Cabrillo in 1542, and claimed for the
country of Spain. More opportunity for outstanding pictures.
The all inclusive price per person is $49.00 includes lunch.
Saturday, September 14th, 2013:
Active Navy Ships Tour.
Departs at 0930 and returns by 1430.
The ships tour will commence at 10:00. The group will visit a modern
day DDG. The current Navy is very squared away, and the younger
sailors really enjoy meeting former sailors from yesteryear. It is a
unique bond between both generations. The tour will last about 90
minutes. Wear
comfortable shoes, and bring a hat
and jacket or wind breaker. Cameras are permitted, as directed.
From the ship we will proceed a few miles to Seaport Village. The
group can fan out, purchase a bite to eat on their own, browse the
many unique shops along the waterfront, purchase postcards and
souvenirs. The all inclusive price per person is $29.00.
Ladies Shopping Tour.
This will be a shopping tour using
the hotel van. The time will be determined later. Price at present
FREE.
REUNION BANQUET:
The Banquet will be a Hawaiian Luau
Buffet. Price $46.00 per person.
Hawaiian attire suggested, but not
required. The business meeting will follow the dinner.
